Supervisors IITB - Prof. Sonali Das
Monash - Prof. Alan Chaffee

Project title - Development of single atom and cluster catalysts for photothermal cracking of ammonia at low temperature.

Prisha joined the IITB Monash Research Academy as a PhD scholar in the field of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Sonali Das (IIT Bombay) and Prof. Alan Chaffee (Monash University).

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad, and a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN). During her master's research, she worked on the synthesis of porphyrin-based photocatalysts for organic transformations and macrocyclic systems for photodynamic therapy, building a strong foundation in synthetic chemistry, materials chemistry, and catalysis.

At the Academy, Prisha is working on the rational design of photothermal catalysts for low-temperature ammonia decomposition for sustainable hydrogen production. By investigating the interplay between catalyst structure, metal-support interactions, and photothermal effects, she aims to enhance ammonia activation and hydrogen production under mild operating conditions.

Through this research, she hopes to contribute to the development of next-generation catalytic materials for clean hydrogen production and support the transition towards sustainable energy technologies.

Outside the laboratory, Prisha enjoys dancing, reading books, exploring cafés and new places, and believes that creativity and curiosity beyond the laboratory often inspire innovation in scientific research. Feel free to connect with me on Linkedin
