Nijo Padinjarathala Ignatius is a PhD scholar of the academy from Kerala. He is working on the problem of Hydrogen Embrittlement (HE) and Stress Corrosion cracking (SCC). His research primarily focuses on mitigating HE effect on high strength steel. He is working under the supervision of Prof. Siddhartha P Duttagupta (IITB), Prof. Raman Singh (Monash University), Prof. Amber Shrivastava(IITB) and Prof. Arnab Dutta(IITB). He completed his Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering (nanotechnology) from National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), Kerala with research experience in nanomaterial synthesis, coatings and thin film fabrication, microscopic and spectroscopic characterization techniques and corrosion analysis by electrochemical techniques. His previous research work in his Master's was on enhancing the corrosion inhibition properties and antibiofouling properties of anodized aluminum by using ceria nanoparticles. His Bachelor's degree is in Mechanical Engineering from TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, Kerala
