Yash B. Desale is a Research Scholar in the joint PhD program of IIT Bombay and Monash University, specializing in Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on the development and aerodynamic analysis of Inflatable Wings (IWs), aiming to understand their aerodynamic characteristics and validate his findings through simulations and experiments. Yash is currently supervised by Prof. Rajkumar S. Pant (IIT Bombay), Prof. Mark Thompson, and Mr. David Burton (Monash University). He began his research journey during his M.Tech at NIT Rourkela, where he collaborated with ISRO on key projects that fostered his interest in research. He earned the second rank in his specialization and a gold medal for the best Postgraduate Project. He also holds two design patents, one in collaboration with ISRO, thereby contributing to space technologies. During his master's program, Yash published his findings in the Heat Transfer Engineering Journal of Taylor and Francis, contributing to the field of engineering. He is an active member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), maintaining his engagement with the aerospace community. Outside of his research, Yash enjoys playing the guitar, cycling, and photography, bringing creativity to both his professional and personal life.
