Krunal has completed B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Mumbai, followed by M.Sc. in physics (material science) from ICT (UDCT), Mumbai. He has two years of experience working with GHRTC (ONGC) - IITB joint project based on geomechanical properties of gas hydrate-bearing sediments and has actively participated in developing a gas hydrate research facility at the department of earth sciences at IITB. He is continuing the work as a PhD scholar at IITB-Monash research academy on the topic of Fluid dynamic investigation of gas hydrate bearing sediments (IMURA0815) under the able guidance of Prof. Vikram Vishal (Earth Sciences, IITB) and Prof. Ranjith Pathegama (Civil engineering, Monash University). He performs experimental work on gas hydrate formation and strength characterisation and understanding its multiphase behaviour. He also does numerical modelling and block-scale simulations of gas hydrate reservoirs.
Apart from academics, he is a Sanskrit enthusiast and a disciple of Hindusthani classical music (vocal). He makes people aware of the Sanskrit language through his YouTube channel, Sanskrit. He is also keen on ancient Indian philosophy, linguistics and literature.
