Student Details

I’m Chandan Kumar Pradhan from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. I have received the degree of Master of Technology (M. Tech) in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, in 2022. I have qualified GATE 2020 in Biotechnology (BT). Apart from my Master’s degree, I’m a DAAD 2021 fellowship awardee, and have completed my dissertation project from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. During my Master’s I have worked with Dr. Prasad Kasturi (IIT Mandi) and Dr. Rudolf Leube (RWTH Aachen), for thesis entitled as “Contribution of Intermediate Filament proteins in aggregation in Caenorhabditis elegans during ageing”. Presently, I’m pursuing my Ph.D. at IITB-Monash under the supervision of Dr. Rajesh Patkar (supervisor at IITB - BSBE) and Dr. Sureshkumar Balasubramanian (Monash University – School of Biological Sciences) on a project of host-pathogen interaction. Excluding the academics part, I love to travel around, trekking, cycling, and playing outdoor games.
