Eleanor Pinto has completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from St. Xavier’s Autonomous College, Mumbai. She then completed her Master of Arts degree in Literature from S.N.D.T Women’s University. Her dissertation titled “Herstories from Goa” explored the postcolonial Goan woman’s identity through an analysis of non-fictional postcolonial texts written by women from Goa. Eleanor is enrolled at the IITB-Monash Joint PhD program and is working on the topic “Literatures of Decoloniality, Philosophies of Difference” under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Amrita Banerjee (IITB) and Dr. Jarrod Hayes (Monash). Her areas of interest include Feminist theory, Decoloniality, Postcolonial theory and Ethics of Care. She is trained in Western Classical piano and is passionate about painting. When one cannot find Eleanor with her nose buried between the yellow pages of a book, be sure to find her either at the black and white keys of a piano, or lost in vivid hues behind an easel.
