Debamita Ghosh

Debamita Ghosh has completed her M.Sc. in Statistics from IIT, Kanpur in the year 2012, and B.Sc. in Statistics (Honors) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata in the year 2010. Her master’s thesis was ‘Spatial Custer Detection’, which emphasised on techniques of detection of the most affected region by any disease. During her master programmer at IIT Kanpur, she had also briefly worked on “Future prediction of purchasing power of Indian districts: An Analysis with Regression and Extrapolation” at Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta in the year 2011. She has been teaching for 4 years. She has proficiency in software skills like R, C-language, MINTAB, SPSS, and SAS. During her tenure at IITB-Monash Research Academy, Debamita will be researching on the project IMURA0739 – “Machine Learning for Next Generation Wireless Networks” under the supervision of A/Prof Manjesh Kumar Hanawal, Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, IIT Bombay and Dr. Nikola Zlatanov, Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, Monash University. Apart from research, Debamita is learning synthesizer too. Her hobbies are dancing, painting, and travelling.
