Aswin completed his BSc. (H). Physics from St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi. He did his Master's from the Department of Physics, NIT Nagpur. His masters' thesis is titled "Playing quantum games utilizing condensed matter systems, " a theoretical work where models like the transverse Ising model were used to generate correlations between players in a game. At IITB-Monash Research Academy, he will work on the project titled, "The Arrow of Sophistication in Biological Self-Organization" under the guidance of Dr. Manoj Gopalakrishnan (IIT Bombay) and Dr. Adeel Razi (Monash University). The project intends to study and analyze several theoretical hypotheses put forward to explain the arrow of sophistication in molecules. These include the idea of a Markov blanket leading to emergent self-organization by Karl Friston, ideas of variational inference by Sanjoy Mitter, and connections to Bayesian statistics and machine learning theory.
