Short Bio and Project Details:
Hi, I'm Amit—an engineer by degree, a humanities enthusiast by choice, and a firm believer that climate justice demands both data and empathy. My academic journey began with a BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIIT Pune, followed by a research-intensive MA by Research in Human Sciences from IIT Bombay. I bring an interdisciplinary lens to my work, along with a strong belief that research should be both rigorous and rooted in real-world impact and maybe even a little fun along the way.
In a world where energy is political and justice is gendered, my project dives deep into the intersections of renewable energy, gender, and policy-making across two very sunny regions Western India and Australia. With solar power shining as the future, the research investigates how women participate in and are impacted by the energy transition, both at the grassroots and policy levels, while highlighting the cultural, social, and economic barriers women face. Outside academia, you'll either find me lifting weights or lifting people's spirits with bad puns and spicy political debates. I can play almost every sport but haven't mastered any—call me a “jack of all games, ace of none.” I believe sustainable futures shouldn't be boring, and neither should research bios.
