We are all born curious and those who do not grow out of it often turn to research. As a kid I used to wonder at the difference between the nature of snow, rain or why the magnets I used to play with only attract certain metals. As I grew up these questions evolved into similar ones about the structure and properties of materials. This led me to acquire a B-Tech in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from NIT, Srinagar followed by masters in Nanotechnology.

I am now pursuing my doctorate degree under the joint guidance of Prof Sunita Srivastava from department of Physics at IIT-B and Prof Sudha Mokkapati from department of Materials Engineering at Monash University towards utilizing evaporative assembly of Nanomaterials in order to achieve nano-plasmonics based optical applications.

This research will hopefully bring me a step closer to my long term goal of making technology more accessible to people of remote regions by development of low cost point of care devices.

In addition to academic pursuits I enjoy sketching, reading classic and fantasy fiction and I dabble in writing from time to time.
