Reena Joshi has joined the IITB-MONASH Research Academy as a Ph.D. student in the December 2022 intake under the supervision of Professor Shobha Shukla (IITB) and Professor Michael Grace (Monash University) to fulfill her dream of becoming an independent researcher while making a meaningful contribution to the scientific community. She is a recipient of the Prime Minister Fellowship for Doctoral Research in association with industry partner Thermax Pvt. Limited. She is a biotech enthusiast at heart and wants to evaluate the impact of nanomaterials on marine life.  She strongly believes that the joint Ph.D. program offered by IITB and Monash University will provide her with cutting-edge infrastructural setup, skills, and mentorship from the best in the field. She hails from the city of temples, Dwarahat(Uttarakhand). She completed her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology G.B.P.U.A.&T., Pantnagar, and her post-graduate degree in Biotechnology from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad (MNNIT-A). Apart from studies, she is a nature lover, passionate about gardening, and a big pet lover (mostly dogs and cats). She likes singing, swimming, and playing snooker. As per her friends, she is a conscientious listener and a go-to person during testing times. She firmly believes good music and a decluttered mind can solve any problem in life.
