Student Details

Shashank joined the Academy as a PhD Candidate in June 2023. He is researching under the supervision of Prof. Yogendra Shastri (IIT Bombay) and Prof. Andrew Hoadley (Monash) focusing on circular economy adoption using system dynamics. His project explores the integration of system dynamics, material flow analysis, and life cycle assessment methodologies to determine the most environmentally optimal tyre recycling scenario for India, aiming to enhance overall circularity in the sector. He holds a master's degree from IIT Kharagpur, where he conducted research on the sustainability assessment of metal 3D printing, which introduced and solidified his understanding in advancing sustainability in the modern world. He is passionate about ecological economics and is dedicated to leveraging his expertise in system dynamics and environmental science to make significant contributions to this field throughout his acadmic career. His research is complemented by his interests in badminton and Indian classical music, which contribute to a well-rounded and disciplined approach to his research.
