Premananda Ghosh was born and raised in 24 Parganas(N) districts, West Bengal. After completing his Bachelor’s degree, he moved to School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad, for his Master’s. While working with eminent Professor Dr.Basavaiah in his master’s, Prem developed a keen interest in synthetic organic chemistry, precisely C-H activation, and new reaction methodologies. Before joining IITB-Monash Research Academy as a research scholar in July 2022, he spent a short stint of his career as a Process R&D Scientist in Dr. Reddys’ Laboratories, a Hyderabad-based multinational pharmaceutical company. His resourcefulness and dexterity in tackling problems led him to join this joint Ph.D. program at Monash University and IIT-Bombay, where he is currently working on “Synthesis of biologically relevant heterocycles via Aliphatic C-H Activation” under the supervision of Prof. Debabrata Maiti (IITB) and Prof. David Lupton (Monash University). Besides lab work, he has a penchant for understanding human psychology and geopolitical Economy. Feel free to contact Prem via Premananda.ghosh@monash.edu
