Yash is a designer with a rucksack full of stories, who designs to feed his body and travels to feed his soul. Prior to joining Ph.D. at the IITB-Monash Research Academy, he completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Gandhinagar followed by an M.Des in Industrial Design from IIT Delhi. He has also been an exchange student at The Parsons School of Design, New York for the Summer’17 semester undertaking graduate-level courses in design research. Other than the Design studios, Yash can be found either on the basketball court, swimming pool, or playing Ultimate. We could’ve mentioned his hobbies here but he switches them every few months so we'll skip on that. At the academy, he’s working on the project titled ‘Digitally fabricated design interventions for ALS/MND’ with the supervision of Dr. Purba Joshi from IDC, IIT Bombay, and Dr. Rowan Page from MADA, Monash University. All three of them are working together towards the same goal of Designing and Developing assistive devices for patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) to make their daily life a little less painful.
