Hailing from Srinagar with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Abdul Mateen's curiosity for environmental fluid mechanics propelled him to IIT Hyderabad for a Masters in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (graduating 2020). Now, he's on a mission to unlock the secrets of urban microclimates through the IITB-Monash joint Ph.D. program.

He isn't just about complex simulations (Large Eddy Simulation, Urban Canopy Models, anyone?). When he's not delving into urban climatology, you might find him scaling mountains on a hike, pounding the pavement on a run or geeking out on the latest tech trends.
