Manorath hails from Bihar and has grown up in a small town of Jharkhand. From a young age, he showed much interest in the field of science and technology. Despite being born in a middle class family, his parents and sisters showed him a dream of acquiring knowledge from the best institution in the country. He prepared for IIT-JEE under the guidance of Shri Anand Kumar, a renowned mathematician and the founder of Super 30 program. Manorath completed his BTech in Electrical Engineering at IIT Ropar and MTech in Power Systems at IIT Delhi. During his Btech, he worked under the supervision of Dr. Ranjana Sodhi, IIT Ropar, to implement a labscale Synchrophasor model and applications. His MTech thesis was on the topic: “Proportional Load Sharing with Improved Voltage Regulation in DC Microgrid”. This was guided by Prof. (Dr.) Sukumar Mishra, IIT Delhi. His craving for knowledge has brought him to the exciting area of Clean Energy. During his tenure at IITB-Monash Research Academy, Manorath will be researching the role of Synchrophasor technology in power system control. His project is titled “Intelligent control and operation of large scale renewable energy integrated power system using Synchrophasor measurement system”. He will be guided by Dr.Zakir Hussain Rather and Dr. Suryanarayana Doolla from IIT Bombay as well as by Dr.Reza Razzaghi from Monash University. Apart from research, he endeavours upon photography. Also, he likes socializing.
