Student Details

Kamlika Gupta completed her Bachelors (with Honors) in Zoology from SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi in 2015 and Masters in Environmental Science from TERI University, New Delhi in 2017. She has been involved in various research projects throughout her academic career, and was part of the winning team in Antardhwani 2015 (DU Annual Technical Fest), bagging Best Innovation Award. She carried out her Master’s dissertation at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee and worked on designing an IWRM based development plan for three watersheds of Bundelkhand, India. After her post-graduation, she joined the industry and worked under Swacch-Survekshan 2018, Asia’s biggest urban sanitation survey and carried out solid and liquid waste management audits in some of India’s biggest Urban Local Bodies. Thereafter, she joined the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute in 2018 and focused on reducing GHG emissions from agriculture, enhancing water security and improving agricultural waste management by using conservation agriculture as a mitigation strategy for climate change. At the IITB-Monash Research Academy, she is pursuing her Ph.D. under the guidance of Prof. Harish Phuleria (IITB), Prof. Victor Chang (Monash University) and Prof. Mohan Yellishetty (Monash University) on diesel particulate emission in open cast mines: exposure characterization and risk assessment. She has been the recipient of Best All Rounder Award in Life Sciences during Bachelors, has qualified UGC-NET JRF in Environmental Sciences and IELTS. When she’s not out in the field or in the lab, she indulges in reading, writes poetry and enjoys hiking and trekking in the great outdoors.
