Monica Upadhyay has completed her B.Sc. Zoology (H) from University of Delhi and Masters in Biotechnology from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. She has also done one year PG Diploma course in Biochemical and Molecular Biology Techniques. She has been involved in various research projects during course work and she was selected for summer research internship by Indian Academy of Sciences (IAS) during M.Sc. After qualifying GATE, DBT JRF and Joint CSIR-UGC NET JRF, She has qualified GRE and TOEFL as well. At IITB-Monash Research Academy, she will be working under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Kondabagil (Supervisor, IIT Bombay), Dr. Sanjeeva Srivastava (Co-Supervisor, IIT Bombay) and Dr. Gregory Moseley (Monash University) on the project titled ‘Finding cues for metabolism inside giant virus particles. Are giant viruses alive?’ Monica likes to participate in various extra-curricular activities. She loves reading and travelling and tries to learn science from day to day experiences.
