Project Title: Data-Driven Modeling of the Coal/Biomass Gasification Process

Supervisors:

  • Prof. Manaswita Bose (Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay)
  • Prof. Sankar Bhattacharya (Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Monash University)

I hold an M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from NIT Durgapur. My professional background includes working as an Operations Engineer at HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited.

The research project focuses on developing a simulation and machine learning framework for modeling the coal/biomass co-gasification process. The goal is to use CFD and DEM simulations alongside experimental data to model particle mixing, reaction dynamics, and syngas generation. By integrating machine learning techniques with physics-based simulations, the project aims to create a computationally efficient tool that can help design cleaner and more efficient gasification systems. This research has strong implications for cleaner energy production and sustainable fuel technologies.

Outside of academics, I enjoy going on trips and exploring new places. I also enjoy cooking, experimenting with recipes, and engaging in digital art and photography as creative outlets.
