After completing my Bachelor's and M.Sc. in Biotechnology, followed by an M.Tech in Agricultural Biotechnology from IIT Kharagpur, I developed a strong foundation in molecular biology and research techniques. An internship at BARC allowed me to explore cyanobacteria and further strengthened my passion for scientific discovery.

Currently, I am pursuing my PhD under the IITB-Monash Research Academy, co-supervised by Dr. Nandita Madhavan (IIT Bombay) and Dr. Tanja Junkers (Monash University). My research focuses on designing peptidomimetic molecules that facilitate ion transport across membranes—aiming to disrupt ionic and pH gradients in cancer cells, thereby inducing apoptosis. These molecules also hold promise for applications in treating other diseases and in future drug development and delivery systems. This interdisciplinary project allows me to bridge my biology background with new perspectives in chemistry.

Outside of research, I am a trained vocalist and an avid lover of painting, crocheting, and trekking. I also enjoy listening to podcasts, especially crime thrillers, which fuel my curiosity and creativity. As I begin this exciting PhD journey, I look forward to growing as a scientist while continuing to embrace the many passions that shape who I am.
