Short Bio and Project Details:

Siyad Rahman hails from Nilambur in Kerala. He joined the IITB-Monash Joint PhD program in January 2024. He is working on the topic "Theoretical and numerical analysis of multiphysics problems in thin structures" under the guidance of Prof. Neela Nataraj (IITB) and A/Prof. Ricardo Ruiz Baier (Monash). Prior to this, Siyad completed an online internship under Prof. Neela Nataraj, IIT Bombay.

Siyad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Dr. Gafoor Memorial MES Mampad College (Autonomous), affiliated with the University of Calicut, Kerala. He later earned a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from IISER Thiruvananthapuram.

His passion for Mathematics dates back to his primary schooling, but his enthusiasm for research blossomed during his tenure as a summer research fellow in the Science Academies Summer Research Fellowship Program in his second year of BSc studies. His research interests include Partial differential equations, Numerical analysis and Finite element methods. Outside academia, Siyad enjoys exploring his interests in music, movies, and craft works.
