Karamjeet Kaur Sarna is on an exciting journey as a PhD candidate at the IITB Monash Research Academy, researching the mind’s ability to predict future events. Her research interest lies in exploring how foresight in driving provides adequate space and time for more informed and adaptive responses. Dr. Azizuddin Khan (IITB) and Dr. Sjaan Koppel (Monash Univeristy) are playing a pivotal role in supervising and guiding her thesis. She embarked on her academic voyage at the Institute of Neuropsychology and Neuroscience, Amity University, Noida, where she earned her B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc degrees in Neuroscience. A turning point was when she assumed the role of a Research Assistant on a DST project under the Cognitive Science Research Initiative. The project explored neural correlates of emotion recognition and prospective memory in children with Autism. This experience allowed her to foster a more comprehensive and interdisciplinary understanding of the field.

Beyond her academic pursuits, you’ll find her hiking trails, conquering peaks, and connecting with nature.
