Aamir Yousuf is currently pursuing a PhD in the IITB-Monash Research Academy, under joint supervision of Prof. Neela Nataraj (IIT Bombay, India) and Prof. Ricardo Ruiz Baier (Monash University, Australia). He completed his Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Kashmir (2017–2019) and has qualified CSIR NET 2021, GATE 2021, and GATE 2022 in Mathematics. His research focuses on the numerical analysis of time-dependent coupled multiphysics models in thin geometries, particularly thin plates. This involves solving higher-order differential equations using Finite Element Methods and Finite Difference Methods. Aamir employs advanced computational tools, including Python and C++, to implement these numerical methods.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Aamir is passionate about cricket. He represented IIT Bombay (as a member of the cricket team) at the 56th Inter IIT Sports Meet held in December 2023. In recognition of his sporting achievements, he received the Sports Citation of the Year 2023 from Hostel IIT Bombay.
