Chirra Hepsibha is from Hyderabad, located in Telangana state of Southern India. From her young age, she shown much interest in the field of science which eventually brought her to the domain of chemistry. She completed her bachelor’s from jawaharlal nehru technological University hyderabad and pursued Master’s from osmania university. She was graduated with a specialization in Pharmaceutical chemistry and won Gold medal for securing the highest CGPA. Her Master’s thesis was the “Synthesis and characterization of some novel thiazole incorporated imidazo(1,2-a) pyridine derivatives and their anxiolytic and anti-inflammatory activities and has two research papers in renowned international journals”. She worked as Chemist at NIPER hyderabad in the department of Medicinal Chemistry and done research in DBT project “Design and Development of Novel anti-tubercular agents targeting shikimate kinase protein which included the synthesis of 2-chloro-3-formyl quinoline and carried out many reactions on it & also worked with the University of Hyderabad as part of her project. During her research, she did insilico studies in computational chemistry by molecular docking using maestro (schrödinger). With this work, she was able to design and synthesize various heterocycles in chemistry. Her craving for knowledge has brought her to the exciting area of chemistry. During her tenure at IITB-Monash Research Academy, Hepsibha will be researching the role of flow chemistry in synthesis. “She is currently enrolled in PhD at IITB-Monash research academy. Her project is titled “Biopolymers: Design, Synthesis and Process intensification via Continuous Flow” guided by Prof. Anil Kumar(IIT bombay ) and Prof. Tanja Junkers (Monash university). Apart from her research and studies, she would like to spend quality time with family and friends, and exploring new things is her first choice in times of leisure.
