Project Title: Metabolomics of Fermented Food Products

Supervisors: Prof. Pramod Wangikar (IIT Bombay) and Prof. Sushil Dhital (Monash University)

Sayeree is currently pursuing a joint Ph.D under IITB-Monash Academy, with the guidance of Prof. Pramod Wangikar, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Bombay, and Prof. Sushil Dhital, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Monash University. She is exploring the metabolomics associated with various processed fermented food, including alcoholic beverages. She intends to dive deep into the metabolite-microbiota association during fermentation and in the human body after consumption, along with further development of functional food.

Sayeree holds a joint International Masters degree in Food Science and Technology (IMDFST), under Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Guwahati And Gifu University, Japan, where she worked on extraction and utilization of inositol from rice bran. She did her Bachelor's in Food Technology from MAKAUT, West Bengal, with a research focus on protein enrichment in functional extruded food products.

Apart from research, Sayeree loves to read fictions, listening to music, and travelling.
