Short Bio

Ph.D. Scholar, June 2024 Intake – IITB-Monash Research Academy

I hold both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Microbiology, graduating as a gold medallist and university topper in both programs. My fascination with the invisible microbial world began early, and a quote by Louis Pasteur, “The role of the infinitely small in nature is infinitely great,” deeply influenced me. It sparked my conviction to pursue a career in microbiology and my desire to uncover how the microscopic world governs health, disease, and ecosystems at large. To me, microbiology is not just a discipline, but a powerful lens to explore unanswered scientific questions and address real-world challenges.

I gained a one year hands-on research experience at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine during my Research and Training programme. I have qualified for ICAR-NET (Agricultural Microbiology) and GATE 2024 examinations.

My current research at IITB-Monash delves into the interplay between dietary polyphenols and the gut microbiome, aiming to understand how polyphenols can enhance beneficial microbes, suppress harmful species, and modulate microbial metabolites to reduce inflammation and promote overall health.

Beyond academics, I enjoy singing, playing basketball, reading literature, and writing.
