Project Title: Novel Polymeric Composition Forming Ceramic Layer for Cable Insulation and Sheathing when Exposed to Fire (IMURA1216).

Ever been stunned by a loose wire or cable? Faulty insulation isn't just a nuisance, it’s a serious hazard, contributing to countless fire-related accidents every year. My research focuses on developing next-generation fire-retardant cable insulation and sheathing using novel polymeric compositions that self-extinguish flames when exposed to high temperatures. Supported by one of India’s leading cable manufacturers, this project addresses a critical safety need in modern infrastructure by enhancing the thermal and structural integrity of power cables during fire events.

With a B.Tech from Calcutta University and an M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur, I bring four years of industrial experience in polymer synthesis and formulation. My work bridges materials science with real-world application and has been featured in three peer-reviewed publications.
