Short Bio and Project Details:
Kajubi Enock, a Ugandan national with nearly eight (8) years of experience in the field of
hydrology and water resources as an academic and individual consultant, has joined IITB -
Monash Academy as a Ph.D. student of Civil Engineering in the December 2023 intake to
contribute to the unknown on the shifts in rainfall-runoff relationships and catchment
resilience during and after floods and droughts for regulated rivers. Enock has been an
Assistant Lecturer at Busitema University since 2019 conducting lectures in hydrology and
water resources. He holds an MSc in Railway Engineering (Civil Infrastructures) from Addis
Ababa University, Ethiopia where his research majored on the performance evaluation and
hydraulic competence of the Addis Ababa Light Rail Train (ALRT) and a BSc in Water
Resources Engineering from Busitema University, Uganda where his investigations were
upon the prevalent flooding conditions of River Nyamwamba at the foot of Mountain
Rwenzori. Enock has a special interest in catchment hydrological modelling and believes
that through the joint Ph.D. program between the Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay
(IITB) and Monash University – Australia, new statistical algorithms and methods will be
developed to identify and characterise thresholds or tipping points in hydrological systems
that transition between multiple steady states. He will be supervised by Professor Arpita
Mondal (IITB) and Dr. Timothy John Peterson (Monash University). Aside from academics,
Enock enjoys classical gospel music, is an excellent leader, enjoys lending a helping hand to
those in need, values relationships and networking, and is an avid Raconteur.
