‘When in solitude, I contemplate the purpose of human life, and that’s what has brought me here.’
One’s purpose in life varies from one individual to another, and a few years ago, I realized that mine was to contribute to the development of mankind through my work in science and technology. I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and took up Geo-informatics for my Master’s degree. For my Master’s dissertation, which I worked on at RRSC-E, ISRO, Kolkata, I focused on assessing the quality of surface water through remote sensing. After this, I worked for almost three years in different roles at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee; Anna University, Chennai; and NeoGeoInfo Technologies, Agartala. My experience in these roles helped me gain vital know-how related to applying geo-spatial technologies to study surface water and groundwater resources. I’m currently working with Prof. J Indu (IITB), Prof. Guido Tack (Monash), and Principal Scientist Dr. Sreekanth Janardhanan (CSIRO, Brisbane). Besides academics, I love travelling, trekking and watching movies. Connect with me on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/sudarsan-n-611792b7/.
