Short bio Ms. Twinkle Soni is a doctoral research fellow under IITB-Monash Research Academy. She has pursued her bachelors in Biotechnology from Rajasthan university, while master in Microbiology from Central university of Rajasthan. She was employed as Junior Research Fellow under an International project name “One Health Poultry Hub” by Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC), an organization under DST, India before joining the IITB-Monash Academy. She possesses remarkable academic skills. She has been university topper during her bachelors and masters. She is awarded by CSIR-NET-JRF, GATE and Inspire fellowship. Her work edicts and passion towards science had make her to visit Japan during her bachelor for the collaborative research exchange program to learn the designing and fabrication of devices. Her expertise in research lies in Biotechnology, Genomics, Bioinformatics and Next Generation Sequencing where, she is the first author of more than 100 SARS-CoV-2 genome sequence submitted in NCBI. She has also published various research articles in reputed scientific journals. She possesses strong interest to work interdisciplinary. Twinkle is currently working under the guidance of Prof. Shobha Shukla and Prof. Sumit Saxena from IITB and Prof. Bayden Wood and Prof. David McCarthy from Monash University on the topic “Interfacing microfluidics, plasmonic surfaces and portable spectroscopic devices for the detection of E.coli in water supplies”. Apart from the academics she is also interested in acting, stand up comedy, yoga and Coding.
