Gokul Prasad hails from Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Graphic Era University, Dehradun and Masters in Water Resource Engineering from SVNIT, Surat. Afterwards he works as a Junior Research Fellow for 2 years at National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee. Their he was working in Groundwater aquifer salinity and management project in rural villages of Mewat, Haryana which are affected by severe groundwater salinity problem. His work has been published in peer- reviewed journals, book chapters and also presented in various National and International conferences. At IITB-Monash Research Academy he is working on “Groundwater depletion scenario for India – use of Isotopes and modelling” under the supervision of Prof. Pennan Chinnasamy (IIT, Bombay) and Prof. Ian Cartwright (Monash University). Outside the academic work, he likes mountain trekking, reading history and science non-fiction books and playing chess.
