Pallavi Goswami

Pallavi has done her B.Tech (2014) from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, with a major in Civil Engineering. After completing her undergraduate studies, she worked as a civil engineer at HPCL Mittal Energy Limited, Bathinda refinery. Here at IIT-Bombay Monash Research Academy, her doctoral studies are based on the project ‘Droughts in a changing climate: an integrated multivariate approach’ which aims to improve drought predictions and aid real-time drought monitoring and mitigation through an improved water resource management. In this, she is being supervised by Dr. Arpita Mondal (IIT Bombay) and Dr. Christoph Rudiger (Monash). Apart from this, Pallavi is also concerned about the current environmental issues and strongly looks forward to working out solutions for these. She is interested in topics related to climate change, sustainable development and global environmental management. Through the process of gaining more knowledge and developing appropriate skills, she aspires to make contributions in improving environmental health and resilience. On a personal front, she is fond of travelling and enjoys knowledge sharing sessions with friends. She loves volunteering for social work and is motivated by the spirit to work for a cause. Her hobbies include photography, reading and playing the guitar.
